2022 presidential candidate Waihiga secures a govt job.

Environment Minister Soipan Tuya has appointed former presidential candidate David Mwaure Waihiga as Chairman of board of Trustee in the National Environmental Trust Fund.

A special notice in the government gazette dated 20 April 2023 has the appointment of Waihiga.

He will serve for a term of three years.

The leader of the Covenant party participated in the presidential election of August 2022 and came last in the race that had four candidates. He got 31,987 votes in that election.

President William Ruto won the election.

Apart from being a senior lawyer, Waihiga is also an ordained minister of the gospel.
