23-year old man stones his mother and brother to death
A 23-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday after killing his mother and seven-year-old brother in a shocking incident in Kamulu area, Ruai, Nairobi County.
David Kimani used stones to hit the two in the head and kill them at their home on Tuesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Peninah Njoki Kimani (43) and Maina Karibu.
A neighbor who responded to the deceased’s cries and tried to help him was hit by a rock and seriously injured. He was hospitalized with head injuries.
Nairobi Police Chief James Mugera said the suspect was arrested in a field near the crime scene.
He added that they suspect the source of the incident is domestic violence, but further investigations are ongoing.
“The man, among other things, will have to undergo medical tests before being charged with murder. We are investigating this,” he said.
