A 5-storey building under construction at the Sunstar Hotel in Murang’a County has collapsed. It is feared that several people have been trapped inside.
The whereabouts of eight people are unknown and they are believed to have been trapped after a five-storey hotel under construction in the Makeji area of Murang’a County collapsed.
The eight were part of a group of 58 builders in the area before the building collapsed.
Murang’a County Police Commander Donatha Kiplang’at, confirming Friday’s incident, also said 43 people were working at the hotel at the time of the incident.
According to Ms Kiplang’at, the 43 people have been identified, only two of them hospitalized after sustaining injuries.
