Angry mob kills self-confessed child killer Masten Wanjala.

An angry mob attacked and killed Masten Wanjala, the promised child killer, in Bungoma, the county’s deputy commissioner Cornelius Nyaribai confirmed Friday morning.

Local chief Boniface Ndiera confirmed the incident saying he had received a call from one of the residents claiming that Wanjala had been spotted.

“There were children going to school and the teachers recognized him and they ran to the police,” Mr Ndiera told Citizen Digital.

Realizing his cover was revealed, Wanjala is said to have fled, with several locals waking him up.

According to the report, he then fled into a neighboring house and locked himself in like a mob who were screaming for his collected blood.

“The angry citizens broke down the door and took him out and within two seconds … they had already killed him,” he added.

Wanjala escaped from Jogoo Police Station on October 13 where he was being held.

According to a police report on the incident, the officer was the one who showed up at work at 7am on Wednesday who discovered that Wanjala was missing.

“This was discovered when they took over the reporting office and the work of the cell guards.

“The OCS deputy informed the OCPD of Buruburu and rang the bell and the area was ransacked to re-arrest the prisoner.”

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

Meanwhile, three police officers were arrested on charges of aiding and abetting the murder of self-proclaimed personal killer Masten Millimo Wanjala.

Police Inspector Philip Mbithi and Police Officers Boniface Mutuma and Precious Mwende, both from Jogoo Police Station, are in custody.

The three, who were arrested by their colleagues at the Nairobi regional criminal investigation office, are awaiting trial.

They will be prosecuted for assisting in the escape from legal custody and for failing to perform their official duties in violation of Articles 124 and 128 of the Penal Code.
