Arrest Warrant issued for Embu Governor Wambora

The Nyeri Labor and Labor Relations Court has issued an arrest warrant for Embu Governor Martin Wambora and several government officials for failing to appear before him in contempt.

Judge Njagi Marete issued the warrants against Wambora, County Secretary Jason Nyaga, Director of Finance and Economic Planning John Njagi and his Chief Executive Officer Ruth Ndirangu.

The ruling handed down last Thursday found them in contempt of court for failing to pay the legal fees of the Kenya County Government Workers Union despite a court order issued on December 1, 2020.

The judge ordered the OCS Nyeri police station to arrest the governor and officials and bring them to justice.

Governor Wambora is the Chairman of the Council of Governors.
