Kericho gubernatorial candidate Eric Mutai received funding for his campaign on Saturday after dozens of his supporters organized a fundraising drive.
The symposium was held at Litein Market, Kericho County Sub-County and raised an undisclosed amount of money.
Mutai was on campaign when he told residents of the town of Litein that he had no campaign money against his wealthy rivals.
A video seen by the Sambazanews showed residents donating their contribution which was collected in a luggage bag at the Litein conference.

“Choose me and make a difference where the poor will be equal to the rich in my direction,” Mutai said.
He said he would ensure that the doors of the top county office were open to all, where those with youth issues would be heard.
Since the country’s campaign began, Mutai has caused panic in former Prime Minister Charles Keter’s camp because of his growing popularity.
Mutai said his office will not be controlled by extremists who will reap where they have never planted.
