Ayub Savula claims he was forced into supporting Raila
Mr Savula currently guarantees he was pressured and threatened by Azimio agents into supporting Raila Odinga’s official bid in the equitable closed General Political race.
The previous Lugari MP, who was chosen on an ODM ticket close by Fernandes Barasa, said he was in Raila’s set up camp of compulsion.
“I have not referenced it to anybody but rather today I will open up to the world about it. It is the pressure from the Directorate of Criminal Examination (DCI) that constrained me to help the Azimio alliance. “It didn’t stop at that. I was summoned and then again, Kenya Income Authority (KRA) was on my neck with a questionable duty bill of Sh500,000,000. It was until an official from the DCI indicated to me that I would be a liberated person once I proclaimed help for Raila and not Ruto.”
The previous official professed to have been among the main lawmakers who pronounced help for a Ruto administration in 2017.
“Following decisions, I joined a fleeting trend that was scrounging up help for Dr Ruto’s official journey,” he said.
He said the choice he took depended on the way that Ruto’s Super supporters was lining Lugari and that he (Ruto) was “a decent neighbor” and the best-qualified individual to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“I have even conversed with my party supervisor Raila who is out of the country on the equivalent and requested that he resign after an extended battle and pass the stick to youthful pioneers,” he said.
Savula was among the “Ruto hard hitters” in Azimio close by previous Mombasa Lead representative Hassan Joho and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed.
The shift in perspective comes scarcely a day prior to the swearing-in of the duly elected president tomorrow.
Savula and his manager Fernandes Barasa will make the vow of office on September 15 at the famous Bukhungu Arena in Kakamega Town, the home area of ODM’s representative party supervisor Wycliffe Oparanya.
He was among five Amani Public Congress (ANC) officials from Western who were poached by Azimio almost too late.
Others are Titus Khamala (Lurambi), Christopher Aseka (Khwisero), Oku Kaunya (Teso North), Tindi Mwale (Butere) and Peter Nabulindo (Matungu). They generally effectively guarded their seats on the ODM party ticket.
