Azimio officially ejects MP Sabina Chege as deputy whip
Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja has officially expelled the member of parliament who appointed Sabina Chege as Deputy Leader of Minorities in the National Assembly.
In its parliamentary group meeting on Tuesday, the coalition replaced Chege with Embakasi West Member of Parliament Mark Mwenje.
The Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula previously refused to confirm the dismissal of Chege without another person and thus asked Azimio to name a new name.

“Mr. Mwenje succeeds Sabina Chege immediately,” National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi said.
Chege was fired because of his loyalty to President William Ruto’s Kenya First government.
He was recently installed as the leader of the Jubilee party and a wing disloyal to Uhuru.
Sabina is among more than 20 Jubilee MPs who have pledged allegiance to President William Ruto.
After campaigning for Raila’s presidency, the ‘rebel’ camp jumped ship after meeting with President Ruto at the White House where they agreed to work together.
