The Azimio la Umoja movement includes the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), the ruling Jubilee party and other affiliated parties.
Addressing his supporters in Nakuru at a rally on Wednesday, March 2, Raila said the coalition would introduce its flag bearers at a rally at Jacaranda Stadium in Nairobi on March 12.
He also mentioned that the movement would be officially launched as a coalition party under the 2021 Political Parties Amendment Bill.
“The visit will culminate in a public rally at Jacaranda Embakasi Stadium where we will launch the Union Resolution party and then elect our presidential candidate,” he said.
The former prime minister went on to say that the rally in Nakuru was the beginning of a series of meetings aimed at announcing the coalition.
He said the Union Declaration movement would not be stopped and rallies would continue in various counties across the country.
“The movement will not be stopped. The UN Declaration has launched its outreach campaign in Nakuru and will continue in other counties,” the presidential candidate added.
