Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has suffered a major blow after the PPDT rejected a petition to remove his Development Chap Chap party from the coalition One Union One Kenya.
In its decision on Tuesday, May 10, the PPDT stated that Mutua and his party should look for alternatives to resolving disputes within the Declaration.
Mutua had approached the Court to seek comment on the mandatory nature of the agreement and the Declaration.
The Machakos governor complained that his party had joined the Declaration six months before the election and that the clause barred members from leaving six months before the election.
The directive now leaves Mutua with the option of resolving the issue within the United Nations Declaration, after joining Kenya First from Vice President William Ruto.
