Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka announced on Monday (May 16) that he would run for president in the August 9 election.
Kalonzo explained that he decided to run after running out of space in the Azimio coalition where he wanted to be Raila Odinga’s running mate.
Senator Baringo Gideon Moi accompanied Kalonzo to a press conference on Monday with former assistant secretary general for decentralization Andrew Siunkuli who will be a co-candidate for the former vice president.
“My brother Raila knows that I’m announcing about my co-candidate, he came to my house to try to persuade me to accept his choice.
“I know there are people who say Gideon was sent to spy but he’s all with us.
“Most Kenyans want an alternative between Kenya First and the Declaration. How long do people want Kalonzo to be a sacrificial person and when I volunteer they mess it up? I promise 50/50 sex to the government. “
“We have to adjust our way of thinking as Kenyans. In fact, I will be silent for a week to think and reflect because these are serious matters.”
The Wiper Party has already gone to court challenging a coalition deal struck when One Resolution Kenya signed.
