Home Affairs Minister Fred Matiang’i on Monday May 2 announced a curfew from Marsabit County to 6pm tonight.
Speaking at the General Services Unit (GSU) headquarters in Nairobi, Matiang’i announced that there would be a moratorium on the movement between 6pm and 6am for 30 days.
The curfew follows an escalation of insecurity in the county.
“The kind of extraordinary actions we have seen in this area must come to an end. We are now ready and ready to tackle this Marsabit cleanup once and for all.
“We are ready to face its challenges. It will not be easy and we are not going there to be popular, we are going there to solve problems,” explained CS.
