CS Matiang’i declares Tuesday a national public holiday
CS Fred Matiang’i has pronounced Tuesday a public holiday to permit Kenyans to project their votes.
In a paper notice dated July 29, Matiang’i said this will offer Kenyans the chance to partake in the 2022 general appointment of Members of Parliament, Members of County Assemblies and County Governors.

“It is informed for data to the public that the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Co-appointment of National Government, as per and in the activity of the powers presented by segment 2 (4) of the Public Holidays Act, read along with Articles 101 (1), 177 (1) (a) and 180 (1) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 pronounces Tuesday a public occasion,” it read.
