Division in Azimio over Raila’s running mate nominations
Cracks have emerged in the nomination committee for the presidential candidate for Resolution Raila Odinga after Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua threatened to resign for what he described as a foul play.
Speaking in Kitui, Wambua objected to the addition of the name of Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu to the list of candidates for questioning by the seven-member panel.
He claimed that there was a plan to deprive Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka of the post and instead give it to Narc party leader, who was forced by the people.

“If I look at the panel and discover that this is a hole so we can serve as a rubber seal for a decision that is not good and right, then I will leave the panel. It will be very easy,” he said.
Wambua also warned Raila that taking Ngilu would be his and the Resolution would remove him. He added that the Kamba nation will not accept anything except Kalonzo’s running mate.
“One has to tell Raila that the woman who is trying to push her into the Kamba nation was rejected by them a long time ago. We, the people of Kitui, and Wiper refused to buy the idea.
“The fact is that if Kalonzo Musyoka does not become vice president on August 9, even Raila Odinga will not be president, and you can send it to the bank,” the incumbent senator added.
His remarks were echoed by Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo and Mombasa County prospective governor Mike Sonko, who vowed to overthrow the Declaration if the former vice president is ousted as a running mate.
“We said that Kalonzo would not attend Monday’s interview. He will not be able to take the test as long as he is on the listing system.
Addressing the Wote meeting, Sonko revealed that his intelligence team had indicated that there was a plan to give the OKA director the position of speaker. He felt it was below Kalonzo’s standard and suggested it be given to Peter Kenneth.
