On Wednesday, Vice President William Ruto brought a smile to the faces of Mukarara Primary School students in Nairobi by preparing a meal for them.
Ruto wore a blue sea apron as she took on the task of retrieving rice from the cooking pot on the students’ plates.
The event seemed to excite the students who seemed to be carrying plates and various utensils ranging from blue, white to green.
The smiles on their faces were clearly visible as they received their shares.
At the stage of the operation, the DP was accompanied by Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja among other leaders.
DP also stood in line for service after completing student training.
Ruto was seen dropping his titles as he appeared to mingle freely with the students while enjoying his meal as an ordinary citizen.
Later, DP used his social media sticks to express his commitment to ensure that every child in school does not miss school because of food.
“No child should be expelled from school for lack of food. This is our commitment as Kenya First,” Ruto said.
He praised the NG-CDF of South Dagoretti and Anne Wawira for leading Food4Education, a program he says benefits more than 20,000 students daily in the constituency.
Local MP John Kiarie, among other leaders, was present.
