Embakasi East returning officer goes missing
Embakasi East Returning Officer Daniel Musyoka has disappeared.
Free Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Wafula Chebukati Friday said the Returning Officer disappeared in the wake of getting out of the Constituency Tallying Center to settle on a telephone decision from an obscure person at around 9.00 pm on Thursday.
Chebukati said Musyoka had been gotten by his protector in the first part of the day and answered to work at the East African School of Aviation however later disappeared in the wake of venturing out to get the call.

“Reports got by the commission demonstrate that at around 9am on Thursday, he was accompanied from his home to the counting place by his protector. At around 9.45 am, he pardoned himself to settle on a phone decision yet didn’t return,” he told columnists at the National Tallying Center in Nairobi.
The IEBC Chairperson said Musyoka’s delegate had since answered to the National Tallying Center, where check of legal official political race result counts from 290 voting public was continuous.
“The Deputy Returning Officer is currently dealing with his (Musyoka’s) obligations,” Chebukati said, including a report Musyoka’s vanishing had been documented at Embakasi Police Station under OB NO 24/11/8/2022.
Chebukati communicated worry over the occurrence, saying IEBC was “profoundly concerned.”
“The Commission is profoundly worried about this appalling episode and calls upon the applicable organizations to quickly research this matter,” said Chebukati.
