Former Citizen TV presenter Hussein Mohamed has revealed why he accepted the post given by Vice President William Ruto.
Hussein was appointed communications officer for DP Ruto’s presidential campaign through a public statement on Monday, January 24.
“Hussein Mohammed, a popular TV journalist, has been appointed communications officer in William Ruto’s presidential campaign. Welcome to Team Hustler,” the second chief wrote on his official social media page.
Revealing his reason for accepting the job, Hussein noted that he was involved in the Ruto scandal, which he said affected many other Kenyans.
The journalist also explained that Ruto’s idea of driving change was the reason he accepted the job.
Hussein thanked Ruto for appointing him as communications chief for his presidential campaign ahead of the August 9 election.
“I share the story of scams, as many Kenyans do. Nothing makes me happier than to be part of this team that drives ideological change in our politics and ultimately the top government,” Hussein wrote on his social media page on Monday, January 24.
His role will be to facilitate and direct the communication of the Ruto side and to create an opportunity to make the second head of state.
The popular journalist quit television in October 2019, ending his nearly 10-year career to focus on other issues.
“It’s been a wonderful 10 years at Citizen TV. I enjoyed and enjoyed it every time I shared with my colleagues at RMS,” Hussein explained.
