A man in Mombasa made fun of supporters of Vice President William Ruto when he gave Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa Ksh 100.
At a public rally in the Mvita constituency on Monday, December 20, the man stood up and headed for the podium where he presented the MP with a gift, a situation that sparked applause from the crowd.
Jumwa paused to acknowledge the gift, saying, “Soda to me? Thank you. “
The gift seemed to be prompted by Jumwa’s satisfying speech on land issues affecting people in the coastal area.
He had accused the leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Raila Odinga, of not doing enough to help residents get patents.
“Raila and his ally, President Uhuru Kenyatta, have refused to resolve our land issues. But don’t worry, we will have a solution soon, “he said.
“We urge you, Vice President William Ruto, when you take over the presidency, please start by implementing the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC) report,” Jumwa added.
The Vice President reiterated his “bottom-up” political ideology when he spoke.
“We need to address land issues that affect Kenyans as a whole,” he said.
