Gachagua flees Meru rally as Azimio and Kenya Kwanza youth battle
Delegate President William Ruto’s running mate Rigathi Gachagua was Wednesday raced to somewhere safe after rival bunches participated in a stone-tossing match during a mission rally in Meru.
The convention at Mutuati market in Igembe North was upset after rival bunches from Kenya Kwanza Alliance and Azimio La Umoja Coalition Party conflicted.
The gatherings pelted stones at pioneers including Mr Gachagua and Meru Senator Mithika Linturi who were tending to the group, compelling them to seek shelter. Mr Gachagua was immediately rushed into his vehicle, which a hurried off.

Likewise present were Imenti South MP Kathuri Murungi and Mr Julius Taitumu, who is testing MP Maoka Maore (Jubilee Party) on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket. Occupants who addressed the Nation asserted that one gathering was on the side of Mr Taitumu while the other was supporting Mr Maore.
Inconvenience began when Mr Taitumu began tending to the meeting after Mr Gachagua and Mr Murungi had spoken. As the gatherings recited trademarks on the side of their applicants, others began tossing stones.
Police anyway mediated and reestablished quiet and the gathering continued. Mr Linturi faulted Mr Maore for the brutality, saying, the MP had promised the gathering wouldn’t be held in his backyad.
“We can’t permit a pioneers to utilize the young by paying them to release brutality,” he said. Prior, Mr Gachagua has told region inhabitants that a Kenya Kwanza government would guarantee that the miraa area was resuscitated by looking for new business sectors.
