Vice President Rigathi Gachagua has responded to Azimio leader Raila Odinga’s threat to take him to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Speaking on Wednesday, Gachagua dismissed the threats saying they are not going anywhere.
The DP said he did not know that defending his boss was tantamount to a crime against humanity, as Raila said.
“Azimio is threatening to report me to The Hague, I don’t know how you will defend your boss, it may be a crime against humanity, they have been on the streets for many years and they don’t even think clearly. boss and his programs become reportable crimes in The Hague,” he said.
The DP, however, said that if Azimio sent a letter to the ICC, the letter would be returned to the sender.
Gachagua is of the opinion that Azimio does not understand how the ICC works saying they are confused.
“Any problem they have with anyone, the solution is the ICC, please defend your superiors,” he said.
His sentiments come a few days after Raila said he would take Gachagua to the ICC court due to allegations of wanting to kill him.
Raila had claimed that Gachagua sent the police who he said fired eleven shots at his car during mass protests on March 27 and 30.
“Gachagua is a defendant, next week we will bring his name to the ICC, he said he wants to finish me immediately,” Raila said.
