Google celebrates 23 years anniversary today.

Google is celebrating 23 years this Monday. To mark the occasion, the search engine released a doodle on its front page.


The animated doodle has a cake labeled “23”, with a birthday candle replacing “L” in “Google”.

When Google’s launch began in 1997, it was officially launched as a company on September 27, 1998. Created by Sergey Brin and Larry Page, Google today is the most widely used search engine in the world. Its current CEO is Sundar Photosi, who succeeded Page on October 24, 2015.

In 1997, Sergey Brin, a graduate of Stanford University, was assigned to show Larry Page, who was then contemplating a graduate school in Stanford, to visit the university. The following year, two Google founders jointly created a search engine in their dormitory and developed their first model.
