Government to demolish entire 200 Kiambu House Estate.

Demolitions have of late been making news almost on daily basis especially in the main towns. Just recently, traders in Nairobi CBD, were affected as over thirty stall were brought down by bull dozers.

Kiambu county is also set to suffer such losses but for a good course. Kiambu county Governor James Nyoro has a plan of putting up a skyscraper home on land that belongs to retired municipal workers that has two hundred houses currently. The houses are located in Ruiru.

After the two hundred house are demolished , the county has plan to construct five hundred houses on the same piece of land where two hundred house from the five hundred will be returned to the previous owners and the remaining three hundred houses will be sold to individuals interested in investing.

Ruiru is not the only town in Kiambu that will be affected the next town after it will be Thika. The governor told the media that his reason for doing all this is to give modern and better housing for his constituents. He also added that the housing project is among Jubilee’s Big Four Agenda.

The man responsible for planning, housing projects and land in Kiambu county, Mr. Elijah Njoroge, also added that those to be affected by the demolitions are well conversant with the situation and are happy of the development.
