Makueni Deputy Governor Adelina Mwau will walk alone, Governor Kivutha Kibwana said.
Mwau joined the UDA led by Vice President William Ruto on Tuesday.
Mwau was officially welcomed to the party on Tuesday by Ruto at his Karen residence.
But on Tuesday, Kibwana said his thoughts had been drawn into the secret relationship between Adelina and the Democratic Alliance.
“She even took on the responsibility of taking with her the great message of our UDA political allies, who rejected her views,” he said.
Kibwana said Makueni residents had expressed their desire to support the ODM United Nations Resolution Raila Odinga.
“… and I will not be deceived by people who seek to glorify themselves. Although I respect Adelina for her good working relationships over the past nine years, her recent decision puts our partnership in jeopardy,” she said.
“The voice of the Makueni people has always been our guide in making decisions. I will not abandon this principle for political gain. Adelina will walk alone.”
He held meetings with various groups of people across the county while seeking support for his ambition to become another county representative.
Mwau has been Deputy Governor Kivutha Kibwana since 2013.
It comes a day after Starehe MP Charles Njagua, popularly known as Jaguar, joined the Ruto side.
The singer-turned-politician was welcomed by UDA and DP Ruto along with MPs Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu) and Oscar Sudi (Kapseret).
