Deacon Simon Mogusu of Gesonso Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) in Bonchari sub-county has asked police to expedite the investigation into the theft of church property during the robbery.

He said members of the church were shocked to learn that visitors had entered the center and confiscated unknown property.

“We found that more than 150 Holy Communion seats, trays and cups were not available in the church,” he said.

The deacon noticed that the tray and cups used for Holy Communion could not be used for daily household activities and therefore had to be returned to the church.

He said members of the church were eagerly awaiting the start of their church activities on Saturday, especially now that the government has allowed churches to be opened under 19 strict protocols.

Mogusu said they reported the case to Gesonso police station and an investigation is underway to determine who stole the church.
