Homeboys radio took a huge revenue hit after the EABL public announcement which led to the company firing Shaffie and his co-host. Shaffie has sued Homeboys radio for wrongful termination and demanded 21million.
He and his other two co-host that is, DJ Joe Mfalme and Neville Musya , were fired for demeaning a woman who was thrown off a building after she declined sexual advances from a man he met on Facebook.
Homeboys have however responded to Shaffie sue with a countersuit threat. Radio Africa group and its subsidiary Homeboyz radio 2017 limited wants to be paid 150 million as they lost businesses and their reputation took a hit following the comment of the trio.
The company also said that Shaffie claims about hearing about his termination through social media were lies. The company HR department contacted Shaffie via phone call to notify him about the termination and then sent him the document via Email. They claimed to have proof.
“Shaffie actions were unconscionable and amount to severe gross misconduct. He should have known better having been in the media for 18years and receiving training on media regulators’ programming codes, broadcasting regulations and codes of conduct and ethics…..”
