I went for the interview coz I don’t want excuses: Kalonzo speaks
Chief Wiper Kalonzo Musyoka now says there is no excuse for the seven-member nomination panel not to announce him as a United One Kenya Declaration, a favorite candidate for Raila Odinga.
Musyoka defended his decision to face the panel despite earlier public statements that he would not participate, saying it was out of respect.
“The decision to come was my decision because I realized we didn’t want to give anyone any excuse to say that I was refusing to come, so I’m here,” he said, “and if you look at celebrities and even bishops here, how could I miss it.

A panel of celebrities led by former cabinet minister Noah Wekesa had previously indicated that it would not consider candidates who did not appear before his panel.
The panel is expected to send three names to Odinga to complete its activities on Tuesday before the May 16 deadline set by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Odinga then has to choose his running mate and announce.
