President Uhuru Kenyatta has said he has not started campaigning for Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate of the coalition coalition One Union Kenya, as official campaigns have not yet begun.
The president has warned critics against pressuring him to engage in early campaigns, saying he will not be forced to do so with threats and intimidation.
Uhuru, speaking at the African Independent Pentecostal Church in Africa (AIPCA) in Kandara, Murang’a county on Thursday, April 14, said he was waiting for the official campaign to begin in May, as reported by the Independent and Boundary Elections. . European Union (IEBC).
His supervisors are also finalizing preparations for his first visit to Mount Kenya, he is expected to start campaigning for Raila.
“I will not accept your intimidation. Go threaten your colleagues.
“I am ready to shake hands with anyone who supports peace,” Uhuru said.
He complained that for a long time his opponents refused to recognize his handshake with Raila.
“It will not push me back on my promise to preach peace. Peace and reconciliation bring prosperity, ”Uhuru added.
In his speech, the Head of State urged his opponents to prepare to face him in the campaign as they had hoped, adding that they would not continue to oppose his participation in the legacy policy.
“I will come out soon and tell you what my thoughts are, what I believe and why,” he said.
On the same day, Uhuru was elected Chairman of the United One One Kenya Resolution Council.
