Muranga Senator Irungu Kang’ata called for the arrest of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, accusing him of inciting the public ahead of the August elections.
Senator Kangata said that following Raila Odinga’s statement that “every young man in Kenya should be given a gun and ammunition to be his army” it is intended that the director of public prosecutions be ordered to be arrested immediately if they are free and fair. their conduct.
“Dpp, you are a respectable and honest public officer. You will order a criminal investigation against the Father by ordering the youth to do this,” Kangata said.
Kangata’s remarks appeared controversial and retaliated against the DPP’s actions against remarks made by Senator Meru Mithika Linturi.
But in defense of Raila Odinga, political analyst Wafula Buke told Senator Irungu Kangata that Raila Odinga could not be arrested as he was right in his remarks.
“Father always explained what a Gun (ID) and a Bullet (voter card) were. The Hague heard this from time to time from different witnesses,” Wafula Buke said.
Kang’ata’s remarks follow a statement by lawmaker David Ole Sankok who vowed to take legal action against Raila Odinga for treason and conspiracy to prevent him from running for parliament.
