Jeff Mwathi mom expose local radio station over interview with DJ Fatxo.

Anne Mwathi, mother of interior designer Jeff Mwathi, called a local radio station during a recorded telephone interview.
This is after the main suspect in the murder case Lawrence Njuguna aka DJ Fatxo, a mugith musician appeared on Radio Jambo’s morning show on Monday May 22, where Mwathi’s mother was “called” to address the DJ.

She later went live on TikTok to imply that the “call” was not live streamed but was a recording of a call she had with the station earlier on Monday.

According to Mwathi’s mother, the station should have informed her that DJ Fatxo was appearing on the show and instead they had a live conversation with him.

“You called me in the morning at 11:42 in the morning and recorded it and then played it later for the audience to hear. You should have called me when he was there,” she said.

“It’s wrong to call me in the morning and ask me all these questions and you didn’t tell me that the DJ will be in the studio, you should have called me when he was there to answer the questions, not to call you so I can record. and later pretend you were calling me to play this audio You could have called me so we could have a one on one chat It’s not good at all

In the audio recording, Mwathi’s mother accused DJ Fatxo of killing her son mercilessly, while blaming the government for not taking appropriate action.

“This DJ is a murderer and he killed my son. I expected him to surrender and explain how he killed him and what made him do this,” she said.

“There has been no justice at all because the first thing is that his house has been marked as a crime scene, all these suspects must have written statements.”

In his defense, DJ Fatxo said he was falsely accused, saying that the investigation carried out by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) did not find any evidence linking him to the murder.

“They have already decided that I was the one who killed him, he doesn’t see that because I wanted to help his son,” he explained.

“If you wanted to kill someone you would take them home, I have a sign and I know how to protect it and my house has a very large balcony facing the Safari park in the forest, if someone wanted to kill them then they would throw them in the forest.”

Jeff Mwathi death

DJ Fatxo was acquitted of the murder charges against him, while his lawyer said that after reviewing the findings of the DCI, the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) acquitted him and ordered an investigation into Mwathi’s death.

On February 22, Mwathi reportedly fell from the 10th floor window of an apartment owned by DJ Fatxo.

Reports say that Mwathi had met the artist a few hours ago to discuss an interior design gig that DJ Fatxo wanted him to do for a fee.

After finishing the business meeting, the couple went out for drinks at four different clubs in and around Nairobi.

CCTV footage from the rooms captured Mwathi, DJ Fatxo, his driver and three unidentified women returning to the scene at around 3am.

According to the police report, a relative of the DJ arrived at the residence a few minutes later in another vehicle.

The DJ was later caught as he was leaving his house with three women around 4am, while Mwathi stayed with two other men.

The CCTV footage will be played shortly after Mwathi dies.
