Jimi Wanjigi case suspended.

The Nairobi High Court has adjourned the case against businessman Jimi Wanjigi.

This is to allow the confirmation of a court order issued to end the arrest of Wanjigi until February 9, 2022.

Wanjigi was arraigned on Wednesday, January 19, after being arrested at his Kwacha offices in Westlands Nairobi by officers for alleged land grabbing.

Earlier, the businessman refused to submit his application to the court, ordering a court order.

The businessman’s team of lawyers led by Willis Otieno informed Senior Magistrate Bernard Ochoi that they had obtained a court order on January 18 to suspend his arrest.

“The order was issued on January 18, and an initial copy was issued to the respondents at about 3:30 p.m.

“It is an insult to this legal process for the same defendants to intend to arrest, seek to register or read charges,” Otieno said.

Eveline Onuga, ODPP representative, asked the court to give her more time to look into the order.
