Joan Laporta elected as new president of Barcelona.
The Barcelona football club members have elected Joan Laporta as the new president and laporta led the club several years to its glory time being one of the best president’s of the club so far.
He was the Barcelona president between 2003 and 2010 and he has a landslide victor after he gained 54.28% of total votes with his close challenger Victor Font coming second with 29.9% and at third position was Toni Freixa with 8.58%.
Laporta who is 58years old will be replacing Josep Maria Bartomeu who had stepped down in October after some problems in the club.
After his election, he took celebration swinging the Barca anthem and taking champagne and later gave out his winning speech where talked about Messi.
He said that a boy called Leo Messi debuted for the club 20years and that seeing the best player in the world coming out to vote is a clear sign that Messi loves Barcelona.
He added that he hopes Leo will stay in Barcelona and that’s what they all want.
