South Suba MP John Mbadi said the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) could not rule out Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) if they wanted to win the 2022 election.
The parliamentary minority leader who is a close ally of ODM leader Raila Odinga said the party could not underestimate the contribution of other NASA leaders. Speaking to Ramogi Fm on Thursday, June 23, Mbadi appeared to change his position and demand a consensus among the stars of NASA.
“We cannot underestimate the contribution of the NASA luminaries. We must bring them back to our team,” said Mbadi, as quoted by Daily Nation.
Jubilee, ODM on the negotiation to design the 2022 coalition
The ruling Jubilee party is already in talks with the ODM to form a coalition that will nominate a presidential candidate against Vice President William Ruto.
Jubilee general secretary Raphael Tuju said the parties would expand their craft by forming a political coalition.
“If we agree to form a coalition, with which we are already negotiating, we will have a presidential candidate in 2022,” Tuju said.
However, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi have claimed they will not support Raila in the 2022 election, citing treason. Kalonzo urged Raila to be honest and accept their 2017 deal in which they agreed he would support him to run for the 2022 presidency.
“I feel I have been bullied and will continue to fight racism and corruption. We cannot remain silent. I urge my fellow leaders to respect what we have agreed publicly and even by signing.
