Kalonzo Musyoka: Raila should go home along with President Uhuru in 2022.

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka stressed that President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to retire with his ally Raila Odinga as soon as his term expires in 2022.

Kalonzo said the ODM leader would have served Kenyans in a number of ways in his political career by August 2022, and age would have gripped him.

Speaking to Emoo FM on Wednesday morning, the former vice president however thanked Uhuru and Raila for agreeing to shake hands as the country was on the verge of violence after the 2017 elections.

“I think President Uhuru should go home with Raila. If you look at the age of all the others who want to run for the presidency, Raila is in front of us, ”he said.

Kalonzo went on to say he hoped his One Kenya Alliance (OKA) allies Gideon Moi (Kanu), Moses Wetang’ula (Ford Kenya) and Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) would support his candidacy.

All OKA directors have indicated they will be vying for the top seat.

Kalonzo further insisted that Raila was invited to join OKA as long as his intention was not to get other directors to support him for the presidency.

The Wiper General urged the Kalenjin community not to follow the sentiments when electing leaders in 2022.

“Don’t be swayed by emotion in 2022. You should refrain from this idea of ’this must be our man’,” he said.

Kalonzo told the Kalenjin community that they share a long history with their Kamba people.

“The problem is that, when I talk about how closely the Kalenjin and Kamba communities are closely related, some people say that I’m spreading racism.”

“For a long time, ACK leaders were Kalenjin or Kamba. And during the 1982 coupe, it was General Jackson Mulinge who rescued President Moi. You can see that we have a long history, ”he added.

Kalonzo added that the relationship between the Kalenjins and the Kamba should be strengthened.

“We share many histories. I did not come here to preach ethnicity but we must remember our relationship,” he said.

Kalonzo said the Kalenjin community should support his candidacy because he is experienced, God-fearing and known for his efforts for world peace. “I am ready for a jacket next year. I have supported other people on two occasions and this time I also want them to support me, ”he added.

He noted that his Wiper party even nominated Kalenjin in Parliament – Sammy Kipkorir Seroney.

“I’m making a small space but I decided to give Kalenjin one,” he explained.

Party leader Wiper announced that he was planning several visits to the Rift Valley to promote his candidacy among the people of Kalenjin.

“I will come to your churches to worship with you. I will also have meetings in various parts of the Rift Valley, ”he stressed.

He asked the Kalenjin community to welcome him to the Rift Valley, saying Vice President William Ruto is well treated when he visits the Ukambani area.

Kalonzo has expressed confidence that other OKA managers will nominate him as their regular successor.

“OKA is emerging everywhere. Now we have Kadu Asili on board and before December you will see wonders, ”he said.
