Kalonzo’s Wiper party halt campaign for Raila, demand running mate first

Proponents of Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper party have announced the suspension of Raila Odinga, a co-candidate for the Unity One Kenya Coalition, claiming a co-candidate.

Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo canceled his first statement confirming that the party suspended Raila’s campaigns until the issue of co-candidates ‘was done on our behalf’.

Even as the selection panel begins its work today, Wednesday, May 4, Kalonzo’s troops have threatened to ensure that their leader does not appear before them for questioning, saying such a decision would be humiliating.

Instead, Kalonzo’s troops want the seven-member nomination committee disbanded, with Raila directly nominating him as his running mate in the August 9 general election.

“Our position remains the same. That there is no Kalonzo, no Raila votes. We also advised Kalonzo not to appear before the panel because there is nothing about the former vice president that Raila does not know, ”Maanzo said.

Maanzo, a Wiper party leader, added that the panel was a face-lifting tool to deceive Kenyans. The exercise is transparent, but “head hunting is aimed at empowering Kalonzo”.

“If anyone still thinks that Kalonzo will take a different position from the vice president, he is having nightmares. What is important now is the two million votes that Raila will get if he nominates Kalonzo or loses if he passes him, ”Maanzo said.
