Kenya bans all flights To and From Somalia with immediate effect.

Kenya has banned all flights to and from Somalia with immediate effect. According to the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority Director General Captain , Gilbert Kibe, these are orders they were given and they are implementing. Though they never disclosed the source of orders.

This ban comes a few days after a deal was brokered by Qatar . The deal was to restore the diplomatic relations between the two countries. This also comes at a time of maritime boundary wars between Kenya and Somalia.

So far there is no further details or communications regarding this development. Also there is no reason that has been given in regards to the decision made.

There is no statement issued by Mogadishu or Kenya.
