Kenya to start making Covid-19 vaccines from Next year.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe revealed in a domestic immunization program that the country has begun the process of building a Covid-19 vaccine filling machine.

A complete vaccine manufacturing plant will be built by 2024, Kagwe said.

Kenya will begin developing Covid-19 vaccines in the country next year in partnership with unknown pharmaceutical companies with the aim of reducing distribution issues that have reduced the number of vaccines.

A complete vaccine manufacturing plant will be built by 2024, Kagwe said. The filling and finishing center helps third parties place vaccines from major manufacturers on spoons or syringes, seal them, and close them for distribution.

Many manufacturers are using other people to complete and complete their vaccines, and African countries such as Senegal, Rwanda and South Africa are negotiating with investors to start production of coronavirus vaccines.

“To improve our security of vaccine distribution, the government has introduced the internal manufacture of Covid-19 vaccines starting and establishing a filling and finishing facility through strategic integration and transfer technology,” Mr Kagwe said in the Covid-19 National Vaccine. “We intend to start domestic production in the first quarter of 2022 and to be fully capable of developing human vaccines by 2024.”

Mr Kagwe said domestic production would help secure adequate immunization to boost national immunization programs.

Kenya plans to vaccinate 26 million adult Kenyans by the end of June next year and at least 10 million by Christmas this year.

He received vaccinations from Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson in addition to Astrazeneca vaccines.

Kenya will need to work with the owner of the vaccine patent to develop 19 Covid vaccines.
