Violence erupted in the National Assembly after lawmakers opposed the 2021 Political Parties (Amendment) Amendment Bill and brutalized majority leader Amos Kimunya.
Violent clashes erupted when Kimunya came forward to propose amendments to the bill.
Kimunya, who is also Kipipiri MP, sponsored the bill.
During a session on Wednesday, January 5, President Jessica Mbalu was forced to intervene after lawmakers became very close and began attacking Kimunya.
The sergeants were given the task by the chairman of the session to protect Kimunya so that he could propose his amendments.
