Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana said he was withdrawing from the politics of the Azimio la Umoja.
Kibwana says he took the decision after being excluded from the Union Declaration after Kalonzo Musyoka joined the coalition.
Without naming names, Kibwana told that powerful people within the Declaration were forcing the union to take the form of a three-legged stool with Jubilee, ODM and Wiper leading political parties.
The governor took to Twitter on Wednesday afternoon, April 20 to inform Kenyans that he had to be more prudent within the framework of the United Nations Declaration.
“It seems impossible to work with @skmusyoka in the Azimio in Ukambani. After joining us, he wanted me to get out of all the structures of the Azimio. I have no choice but to be at peace with this sad fact. History will judge us in the end. Be good [for] RailaOdinga, “He said.
This means that Kibwana will not be seen campaigning for Raila Odinga’s presidency outside Makueni or neighboring Ukambani counties.
