Benson Kamara’s home burned down in Dam Samaki village, Olmoran, Laikipia County, September 10, 2021.

No one was injured in the incident as families living in the area had already fled.

“They raided our homes on Friday morning and started burning our homes demanding our departure. We were saved by God’s grace as we ran through the back doors. I could only take my children and my clothes,” Fish Dam resident Mary Maina told the Nation.

Dr Matiang’i is expected to announce changes in Laikipia’s security management, even though governors and other officials have called for a military intervention.
