Mama Ngina state salary increases to sh 679,800 per Month.
Former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta’s pension has been increased to 679,800 shillings every month as part of a comprehensive review of her family’s multi-billion shilling wealth.
Mama Ngina’s pension has been increased by the 568,218 shillings she earned in 2018 at taxpayers’ expense for being the wife of Kenya’s first president, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, who died in 1978, according to Treasury documents seen on Business Daily.

The lavish retirement benefits given to public servants and figures like Mama Ngina have been heavily criticized on the grounds that they left the public service with extraordinary wealth, including assets worth millions of billion shillings and large business interests.
The government payment of the former First Lady is tied to the law which states that the spouse of a sitting or retired president will receive 40% of the current salary paid to the head of state in the event of her husband’s death.
But some lawyers say the payments don’t comply with the President’s Retirement Benefits Act, which went into effect in January 2003.
