A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of making weapons at his home in Ogenga village, Kasewe B sub-district, Eastern Rachuonyo, Homa Bay County.
The arrest, which took place on Saturday, came after the area’s deputy chief, Hezbon Asero, was told by the public about the unusual event on the farm.
Asero informed the police who searched the suspect’s home and found him with three ammunition.

The weapon consisted of two pistols and a G3 rifle. Three live bullets were also obtained from the suspect’s home.
“The information I received was that the man made the guns in his home. He could be the main protagonist in our area,” Asero said.
The suspect was taken to Sori Police Station before being transferred to Oyugis Police Station for further questioning by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation.
Rachuonyo Eastern Police Commander Justus Kucha said their initial investigation revealed the suspect had collected the guns at his home and sold them to unknown robbers.
“We are still investigating the case to enable us to involve more suspects in the use of illegal weapons,” Kucha said.
The police boss said the suspect would be brought to court once the investigation was completed.
