Mbappe was offside – Sergio Busquets criticizes refereee after Spain’s defeat to France.
Spain midfielder Sergio Busquets has criticized referee Anthony Taylor after his side lost in the UEFA Nations League final to France on Sunday.
Busquets criticized Taylor’s decision to allow the late Kylian Mbappe’s winner in France’s 2-1 victory over Spain.

France beat Spain following goals from Karim Benzema and Mbappe.
Mikel Oyarzabal scored for Sapin at the San Siro.
Hernandez slipped past Mbappe’s defense, who slammed the ball under goalkeeper Unai Simon and went off to celebrate when Spain asked for an offside.
The replay showed Mbappe was clearly behind the last man and was in the offside position, but Taylor felt Spanish defender Eric Garcia had a big touch on the ball that created the second-half game.
Responding, Busquets told Spanish television after the game: “The referee told us that Eric Garcia wanted to play football and that kills offside.
“But he wanted to play football because the ball would get to Mbappé who was offside! It doesn’t mean anything!”
He added: “The second goal seemed to offend me. We came to the defensive line very well. I think Mbappe was offended.
