MCA Aspirant who got 1vote only in ODM polls to run as an independent candidate

Two MCA candidates from Migori County, who received one vote each in the ODM by-election on April 18, said they would run as independent candidates in the upcoming elections.

Kanyamkago MCA candidate Joseph Orony received one of the 1,827 valid votes. The winner, Robert Onyango, received 803 votes. Boniface Otieno received 291 votes; Richard Solo (690) and Bernard Ogallo (42).

Kaler Ward Representative Born Ogolla received one of the 1,042 valid votes. The winner, Sammy Jura, received 311 votes. Kennedy Ochieng emerged second with 285 votes; Julius Rodho (263) and Peter Opiyo (183).

“Yes, I did get a vote in those primaries, but I hope to cancel the results in August,” Ogolla said.

Also in Migori, Kamagambo South Ward candidate Wycliffe Odhiambo won two votes in a contest involving 10 candidates. The winner, Collins Agai, received 849 votes.

Kanyamkago North MCA candidate Boaz Abwao received six votes, while main candidate George Omamba received 985 votes.
