Kenyan lawyer living in Canada Miguna Miguna has revealed his intention to run for Nairobi County Governor in the August general election.
Speaking to KTN News, Miguna said he intends to run for the city’s top post for the second time after losing the seat to former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko in 2017.
The relocated lawyer said he was a registered voter in Kenya and was eligible to run in the next election.
“I intend to run for Governor Nairobi. I am a registered voter and I can run for any position,” Miguna said.
Miguna, who was running for office in the last election as an independent candidate, said he would soon reveal the political party he would use in his second bid for the governorship.
“I will run for the party which has not yet been announced. Wait for the announcement. If I change my mind, I will let you know, ”he said.
As for whether he will return to the country before the election following his dismissal in 2018, Miguna said the matter is still in court and he is awaiting his decision.
