Museveni – Why I don’t kiss my wife in public

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has revealed why he does not kiss his wife in public. President Museveni calls public displays of affection ‘un-African’

“If I had kissed my wife in public, I would have lost all the elections in Uganda. Because Africans do not show what is private in public. If you want to kiss, you know where to kiss,” President Museveni said.

The Head of State of Uganda also focused on the leading topic of homosexuality which he called a deviation from the norm.

“We are under pressure from groups that say there are two ways of living. There is a normal way and there is a parallel way of homosexuality and everything. This is not our interpretation. Homosexuals were here a long time ago. I heard that one of them was a chief, the other a king They were not killed. They were not praised and promoted. It was not said that it was the normal way,” Museveni said.

Four years ago, President Museveni publicly warned Ugandans against practices promoted by foreigners.

“One of them is what they call oral sex. The mouth is for eating, not sex,” he said at the time.

In 2014, President Museveni signed into law a bill detailing punishments for homosexuals, including life imprisonment for same-sex couples and same-sex marriage.

President Museveni and First Lady Janet have four children, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba being the eldest. However, it was reported that he once dated the wife of fierce political opponent Kiiza Besigye.
