I can’t imagine life without you: Obama teases Michelle at their 29th Marriage Anniversary.
Former President Barack Obama has reaffirmed his commitment to his marriage and, absolutely, his 29-year-old wife, Michelle.
While the couple celebrated the 29th anniversary of their wedding on Sunday, the former POTUS sent a tweet to the mother of her two children:
“Happy Anniversary, Miche! Over the past 29 years, I have loved looking at the world to know you not only as a Southern girl, but as a mother, lawyer, executive, writer, First Lady and my best friend. I can’t imagine life without you.
The first couple had revealed that they were almost divorced after the birth of their first child, Malia.
During a tour of her book, Becoming, which began with a video tour across the country, Michelle told one of her interviewees, Gayle King, that she and Barack had stormed their marital storm. After consulting with a marriage counselor.

“Michelle paid the price for everything, going between mom and work, without the belief that she was doing any job well,” Barack wrote. “At the end of every night, after meals and during bathing and story time and cleaning the house and trying to find out if she had taken a dry cleaning and wrote her a letter – even making an appointment with a pediatrician, she would often fall on an empty bed, knowing that the whole cycle it will start again for several hours while her husband was doing “important things,” Obama said in the book.
The former president continued to be passionate about sexuality and his wife’s support for many years.
