Former US President Obama joins NBA as partner.

NBA Africa expands understanding of the NBA market by conducting league activities across Africa and engaging with fans across the continent while developing the game, as well as social responsibility initiatives.

“The NBA has always been America’s greatest ambassador, using the game to create deep relationships around the world, and in Africa, basketball has the potential to promote opportunity, prosperity, equality and empowerment across the continent.” Obama said in a report.

“By investing in society, promoting gender equality and promoting love for basketball, I believe the NBA Africa can make a difference for many young Africans.

“I am impressed with the league’s commitment to Africa, as well as the leadership shown by many African players who want to give back to their countries and communities.

“This is why I look forward to a partnership that benefits the youth of many countries and am so proud to join the NBA Africa team .”

Former NBA stars Grant Hill, Junior Bridgeman, Luol Deng, Ian Mahinmi, Dikembe Mutombo and Joakim Noah are among other NBA Africa investors.
