ODM nominates Crystal Asige, ex-Sauti sol signee to Senate
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has nominated former Sauti Sol protégé Crystal Asige to the Senate.
In the nomination list published by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Wednesday, July 25, Asige was nominated to represent persons with disabilities in the Senate.
The musician, who is visually impaired was nominated alongside Nickson Ochieng, who was the male representative.

CRYSTAL ASIGEHer nomination came two years after she parted ways with Sauti Sol’s talent mentorship project – Sol Generation in February 2020.
Asige, who starred in the Extravaganza hit song stated that the management had shown her the door, on grounds that she was no longer functional in the group.
However, the group’s management explained the decision to expel her was on mutual terms, adding that she did not meet the threshold the company had set for her.
