The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) responded to Sauti Sol after the group threatened to sue the United Nations Declaration for violating copyright law in the country.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, May 17, ODM said the use of one of their songs when nominating a fellow candidate at KICC was intended to appreciate and celebrate their artistic work.

In a statement issued on Monday evening, May 16, Sauti Sol accused Raila Odinga-led Resolution of using one of their songs, Extravaganza, as a vocal hymn when introducing Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua as the coalition’s running mate.
Sauti Sol alleged that the actions taken by the Declaration campaign team violated their right to own property as guaranteed under Article 4 of the Constitution of Kenya.
