Kanye West legitimately changed his name to Ye.
The 44-year-old rap star filed a petition last month officially using his nickname, and a Los Angeles judge approved his request on Monday (10.18.21).
The “Stronger” hitmaker – who separated from his wife, Kim Kardashian West, earlier this year – told the judge he was changing his name for personal reasons.
And Los Angeles Supreme Court judge Michelle Williams Court has now agreed to approve her application, based on a deadline.
The open rap star has been using Ye on his Twitter account for some time and also released his 2018 album name.
In addition, you previously mentioned in a radio interview that his nickname was “the most commonly used word in the Bible,” and said that in the Bible it means “you”.
The chart-leading star also asked to be known as Ye via a Twitter post in 2018.
